A fabric of cosmopolitan ambition, for the designer, the weaver, the artisan, the collectionist, and every creative inclined more towards questions than answers.
Through a warp and weft we:
*Weave an everlasting library of questions about the textile craft and artistic practices.
*Are thread that connects exhibitions, artistic-cultural spaces, and collectible objects.
*Develop reflections through ingeniously placed knots between articles, works, discourses, and multidisciplinary references.
*Share intimate streams of consciousness triggered by contact with diverse forms of art and craftsmanship.
*Support and fuel for the ceaseless hands in the proposal to continue weaving.
From Bogotá, Colombia, where she studied Design at the University of Los Andes and worked for two years at the New York/Colombian based brand Mola Sasa. It was during her time in these two places where she met the indigenous and artisan communities of her country. These are creators of textile luxury and resilient individuals, with hands always willing to keep weaving. Her experience revolves around working in collaboration with them.
Why does she write? Writing has always been innate to her; she turns to it to understand herself and her craft. While working for Mola Sasa, she supported the creation of content for the blog and newsletter. In this corner of the web, Antonia Reina seeks to give her writing a unique space and to delve into its practice and possibilities.
